Money is simply a tool to help us collect and access life experiences. Many of us are on a mission to collect more, without really thinking about why we want it. We default into the safety of accumulating wealth, perhaps it’s because we are really protecting ourselves from the feeling of regret. Here’s the secret: not letting yourself want something won’t save you from the “should have, would have, could have” of old age. The first step of a financial plan is knowing what you want. This exercise is designed to let yourself think bigger—or at least more intentioned—about the experiences you want to collect in life and when you want to collect them. This exercise is based on concepts in Die with Zero by Bill Perkins. At Huntress Wealth, we’re not going to push you into the Die with Zero mentality, but even going through the exercise helps you realize what’s important to you so you can make a plan to collect as many meaningful experiences as you can.
